Senior Engineer, Water

RVA is seeking a Senior Engineer for our Water team in a full‑time permanent position.

• Provide project engineering and technical expertise, review hydraulic calculations, analysis, and design services for various water/wastewater treatment facilities
• Manage water/wastewater projects, including scope, schedule, budget, and client relationships
• Provide senior review and professional authentication of memos, reports, drawings, and other engineering documents
• Prepare conceptual, preliminary, and final process designs of wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, equalization tanks, outfalls
• Lead studies and Class EAs for water and wastewater projects
• Prepare proposals and reports
• Liaise with clients, consultants, regulatory agencies, utility companies, and contractors
• Lead and participate in business development initiatives
• Plan projects, develop accurate scopes of work, project plans, schedules, and deliverables to execute high‑quality projects on time and on budget
• Mentor and coach project teams, including technical and field staff
• Supervise junior engineers, technologists, and designers
• Perform other duties as assigned and appropriate for this position

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering
• Licensed as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in Ontario
• 15+ years progressive experience in water and wastewater engineering, with at least 10 years in a consultancy
• Demonstrated abilities in multidisciplinary project teamwork and coordination
• Proficient in all design activities: studies, functional and detailed drawings and reports, contract document preparation, tendering, construction administration, and commissioning
• Thorough knowledge of Canadian federal and provincial regulations
• Experience meeting timelines and budgets, proposal writing, business/client development, and other consulting skills
• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
• In‑depth understanding of business issues associated with consulting engineering and planning

• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with clients and stakeholders

The salary range for this position is: $130,000 – $180,000. Compensation will be determined based on education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business needs.
