Electrical Designer – Building Systems

We are looking for a motivated Electrical Designer to join our growing team in Toronto. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in building electrical design who is looking to grow professionally with mentorship and hands-on project experience.

The successful candidate will assist with the design and coordination of electrical systems for building projects, including lighting, power distribution, fire alarm, communications, security, and other low‑voltage systems.

• Prepare electrical drawings and design documents using AutoCAD.
• Assist with the design of building electrical systems, including lighting, power, fire alarm, communications, and security systems.
• Perform site visits to review existing conditions and construction progress.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, clients, and authorities having jurisdiction.
• Apply applicable electrical codes, standards, and project requirements.
• Support senior engineers and designers with calculations, layouts, reports, and construction administration tasks.

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience or background in building electrical design.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of the Ontario Electrical Safety Code and applicable building electrical standards.
• Valid driver’s licence and access to a personal vehicle for site visits.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work from the office.
• Willingness to learn and grow in a mentorship‑based environment.
• Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) designation is considered an asset.
