Lead Structural Engineer

Key Responsibilities Structural Engineering Leadership
* Lead the planning, analysis, design, and delivery of structural engineering projects.
* Provide technical oversight for structural designs involving concrete, steel, masonry, timber, and existing building rehabilitation.
* Conduct structural condition assessments, investigations, restoration projects, and rehabilitation designs.
* Prepare and review engineering calculations, technical reports, specifications, and construction documentation.
* Apply applicable building codes, engineering standards, and industry best practices.
* Review, approve, and seal engineering drawings, calculations, and reports as required.
* Utilize structural analysis and modeling software to develop practical and efficient engineering solutions.
* Ensure projects comply with regulatory requirements, quality standards, budgets, and schedules.

Project Management & Client Relations
* Serve as the primary technical contact for clients, architects, contractors, municipalities, and project stakeholders.
* Lead client meetings, technical presentations, and design reviews.
* Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, risks, and deliverables.
* Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams.
* Support construction through field reviews, shop drawing reviews, RFIs, contract administration, and contractor coordination.
* Build and maintain strong client relationships through responsive service and technical expertise.

Leadership & Team Development
* Mentor engineers, designers, and technical staff.
* Support quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Assist with recruitment, resource planning, and employee development.
* Contribute to proposal preparation, fee estimates, and project pursuits.
* Support business development and identify opportunities to expand client relationships and services.
* Collaborate with senior leadership on strategic planning and departmental growth.### Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
* Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation.
* Minimum 10 years of progressive structural engineering consulting experience.
* Demonstrated experience designing structures using concrete, steel, masonry, and timber.
* Strong experience with structural rehabilitation and restoration projects.
* Proven ability to lead structural engineering projects from concept through construction.
* Advanced knowledge of applicable building codes, engineering standards, and structural engineering best practices.
* Proficiency with structural analysis and modeling software.
* Experience managing multidisciplinary engineering projects.
* Strong client relationship management and communication skills.
* Demonstrated experience mentoring engineering teams.
* Experience supporting proposals and business development is considered an asset.
* PMP certification is considered an asset.
* Heritage conservation experience or related professional memberships are considered an asset.
