Planner - Power System Planning at IESO

In the Planner role, you will support the electricity market through critical analysis and modeling. Tasks include identifying system needs, conducting risk assessments, and developing methodologies while recommending strategic solutions. You’ll also engage with internal teams, industry partners, and communities to drive collaboration in energy planning efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct detailed analyses of electricity supply and demand

• Develop forecasting methodologies for short-term needs

• Analyze power system performance and inform planning activities

• Collaborate and align with various stakeholders

• Mentor less experienced staff and review their work

Requirements:

• Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, or relevant field

• 6-8 years in power system analysis and planning

• Proficient in regression analysis and data techniques

• Experience with programming in Python, R, or Matlab

• Insight into the Ontario electricity market dynamics
