We are seeking an experienced Process Engineer with a strong background in plastics manufacturing and injection molding operations. This role is responsible for improving manufacturing processes, supporting production efficiency, troubleshooting molding issues, and driving continuous quality improvements within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate is hands‑on, technically skilled, and comfortable working directly on the production floor to resolve process and tooling challenges.
Key Responsibilities- Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance quality, efficiency, and uptime within injection molding operations
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, maintenance, and production teams during new product launches and mold trials
- Troubleshoot molding defects and implement corrective actions involving machine settings, tooling modifications, and process adjustments
- Optimize machine parameters and establish stable processing conditions for both new and existing programs
- Develop and maintain process documentation, setup sheets, preventive maintenance records, and process control procedures
- Coordinate mold trials, monitor tooling performance, and follow up on mold repairs and engineering changes
- Provide technical support and training to setup technicians, maintenance personnel, and production staff in areas such as automation, robotics, and process optimization
- Participate in selecting and implementing new equipment and automation technologies to improve plant performance
- Support root cause investigations related to quality concerns, process failures, and equipment issues using structured problem‑solving methodologies
- Utilize quality systems and manufacturing standards, including IATF 16949 methodologies and continuous improvement practices
- Assist with automation programming and integration of robotic systems within manufacturing processes
- Review tooling designs and provide recommendations to improve manufacturability and production performance
- Coordinate sample manufacturing and testing activities in partnership with product engineering teams
- Maintain accurate records related to tooling inventory, quality approvals, and maintenance schedules
- Support installation, testing, operation, and repair activities for injection molding equipment
- Participate in cross-functional product development and stage‑gate project activities
- Prepare technical reports documenting development work, process trials, and validation results
- Promote workplace safety standards and maintain organized work areas using 5S principles
- Minimum 5 years of experience in plastics manufacturing
- Minimum 3 years of hands‑on injection molding process experience
- Strong knowledge of plastic materials and molding processes
- Experience troubleshooting mold defects and implementing corrective process or tooling changes
- Ability to review tool drawings and recommend design improvements
- Strong understanding of injection molding equipment, tooling, robotics, and automation systems
- Experience with process control methodologies and quality systems
- Knowledge of SPC tools and statistical analysis techniques including control charts, Pareto analysis, and capability studies
- Strong communication and problem‑solving skills
- Comfortable working in a hands‑on manufacturing environment
- Degree in Electronics Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- Experience with robotic programming and automation integration
- Familiarity with IATF 16949 standards and automotive manufacturing practices
- Experience using structured problem‑solving tools such as 8D, DOE, ATS, and time studies
- Strong technical understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, tooling, dies, jigs, and gauges
