This role ensures the Engineering and Asset Management teams play an active role in the electrification of Light Rail, Subways and Heavy Rail transit fleets. Furthermore, this person provides similar support for new and emerging Zero Emission Bus (ZEB) charging networks, ensuring safe, reliable, and sustainable operations for the Metrolinx Bus Fleet.
What Team(s) will I be leading?
Lead the Electrification & Plant (ELTP) Engineering team responsible for providing Engineering Assurance Services, as related to the Electrification and Plant Interfaces for the Heavy Rail, Light Rapid Transit, Subway and Bus transit fleetsProvide leadership and direction to the ELTP Asset Management team responsible for the emerging ELTP asset portfolio, including assets directly managed by ELTP, assets supported by ELTP, interface assets, third-party managed assets, and future handover assetsBuild and expand the ELTP Engineering team responsible for high voltage charging systems and/or hydrogen storage systems, and associated ancillary systems, as related to the transition to an Electric and/or Hydrogen Bus fleetWhat will I be doing?Responsible for and owns the asset class (or) systemwide function development and acceptance of engineering, design, maintenance, condition, and asset management standards and assures compliance to standards throughout the asset lifecycle.Owns, oversees and directs reviews for the acceptance or rejection, as appropriate of proposed deviations and non-compliances with respect to relevant technical and engineering standards, including process compliance verification of the requisite safety case analysis from the requester, and leads (or) supports deviations to systems engineering and asset management standards.Leads in collaboration with the system engineering assurance team, agency divisions, commercial and delivery teams, external stakeholders and regulators to ensure the safety, design and integration of new and enhanced assets into the asset base and the implementation of new systems and development and/or assurance oversight of asset class integration of the asset class with the wider Metrolinx asset base for rail transit infrastructure and systems (or) fleet.Builds collaborative relationships with senior organizational leadership and gains trust with stakeholders (. customers, other business units, tenants, local transit) to foster good relations, gain support, develop resources, drive results, realize…
