Job Purpose

The job purpose of a Manufacturing Process Engineer includes owning the stability and efficiency of production processes, specifically focusing on troubleshooting electromechanical test jigs, implementing permanent corrective actions, and optimizing manufacturing workflows to protect On‑Time Delivery.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Equipment Troubleshooting: Rapidly diagnosing and resolving failures in production testing equipment, calibration benches, and electrical jigs to minimize production downtime.
  • Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Leading formal investigations into recurring accuracy, yield, or calibration failures and implementing permanent Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) to eliminate temporary patches.
  • Process Optimization: Analyzing and improving production workflows using Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to increase throughput and reduce cycle times.
  • Cross‑Functional

    Collaboration:

    Bridging the gap between Production, Quality, and R&D by escalating fundamental design flaws and taking full ownership of sustaining engineering on the production floor.
  • Standardization: Developing, updating, and enforcing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for jig maintenance, connection protocols, and daily bench verification.
  • Data Tracking and Reporting: Monitoring First Pass Yield (FPY), calibration drift, and equipment failure rates, shifting the production floor from a reactive state to preventive maintenance.
  • Quality Assurance: Collaborating with the Quality department to ensure all engineering changes and process improvements meet strict accuracy and quality standards.
  • Training and Development: Providing training and technical guidance to production staff on new testing procedures, jig handling, and process updates.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensuring all engineered solutions, equipment modifications, and daily operations comply with occupational health and safety laws and regulations.
  • Follow all procedures in compliance of Accuenergy (Canada) Inc standard policy and operation regulations.
  • Any other operation‑related responsibilities may be added as company continues to grow.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Educational Background: Holding a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering, or a strictly related technical field.
  • Industry

    Experience:

    Demonstrating 3+ years of experience in an electronics manufacturing environment, particularly supporting PCBA testing, electrical calibration, and electromechanical assembly.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Proven ability to read electrical schematics, diagnose PCB/jig connection issues, and implement physical and structural engineering fixes independently.
  • Applying Methodologies: Utilizing structured problem‑solving frameworks (e.g., 8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa) with a strong preference for Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher) to drive floor improvements.
  • Initiating Continuous Improvement: Initiating and supporting projects for cost reduction, process capability enhancement, and waste elimination within the production lines.
  • Communication and

    Collaboration:

    Facilitating clear technical communication to translate floor operator feedback into actionable engineering solutions, and articulating requirements effectively to R&D and management.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Generating comprehensive technical reports, maintaining accurate records of floor modifications, and documenting all CAPA and quality control measures.
