Looking for a new and exciting opportunity? We are looking for Senior Inspector, Elevating Devices to join our team!
What You Will DoIn this role you will be responsible for reviewing and interpreting contracts and inspecting associated work, ensuring that it is performed in accordance with authorized contract documents and applicable codes and safety regulations.
Other responsibilities of your role will include:
- Inspecting, accepting and preparing various reports associated with all elevating devices construction and maintenance/repair work, as well as the observation of the work in progress.
- Ensuring that work associated with new installations and maintenance repair performed on existing installations is performed in accordance with the contract terms and specifications as well as with applicable codes and safety regulations.
- Liaising with other departments to provide guidance related to the tendering of elevating devices contracts and elevating device installations for capital programs.
- Conducting contract administration activities for the development of new elevating devices, installation of elevating devices and the maintenance/repair of existing devices.
- Maintaining work progress and status reports on the various construction work projects.
- Liaise with and coordinate construction work with external contractors, municipal government agencies and utility commissions to ensure that work progresses smoothly with minimal impact to operations.
- Perform necessary inspections of work undertaken by TTC trades employees involved in construction work related to One Time Work Orders (OTWO) to ensure compliance with schedules and costs.
- Ensure that work is completed according to the schedule provided in the contract documents.
- Report on contract deficient work and follow up on corrective actions including inspection of same.
- Prepare and issue all formal and informal documentation to the contractors after the contract is awarded. Attend progress meetings, reports on areas of responsibility relating to construction work activity.
- Review, modify and monitor contractual payments for accuracy and timeliness. Prepare and justify Contract Change Orders.
- Follow up on the Plant Maintenance Department’s warranty programs to ensure that warranties are appropriately applied and completed within the warranty period.
- Review and coordinate Plant Maintenance Department activities and property developer activities as required by legal agreements. Review, maintain and conduct the Quality Index for State of Good Repair (SOGR) and OTWO projects.
