What Is The Opportunity?

Scarborough Transit Connect (STC) was selected by Metrolinx to deliver the Scarborough Subway Extension – Stations, Rails and Systems (SSE-SRS) package. The Scarborough Subway Extension will bring the TTC’s Line 2 subway service nearly eight kilometers farther into Scarborough. It will extend from Kennedy Station to Sheppard Avenue and McCowan Road, providing quick and seamless transit for those heading into and out of the downtown core and those travelling within Scarborough.

The extension will replace Line 3 (the Scarborough RT), helping to reduce travel times and improve access to jobs, schools and other key destinations throughout the city.

As part of the Scarborough Transit Connect project based in Scarborough, Aecon is looking for a qualified Health & Safety (H&S) Advisor to join our team.

What You’ll Do Here
  • Administer the EHS Program.
  • Promote the highest level of safety throughout the project.
  • Provide direction and support for managers, supervisors, sub-contractors regarding their responsibilities.
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive safety culture.
  • Ensure all workplace parties fulfill their responsibilities for the EHS program.
  • Conduct safety orientation for workers, owners and clients. Participate in “pre-planning” stages of work.
  • Assist in the management of worker’s compensation claims.
  • Conduct workplace safety audits and inspections.
  • Walk project site with workers, owners, and other stakeholders safety representatives to assess safety and to address deficiencies.
  • Conduct hazard assessments and control activities, providing coaching when necessary.
