What you'll do
  • Conduct comprehensive energy audits to assess lighting systems and renewable technologies in various commercial and industrial settings.
  • Design and develop energy-efficient lighting solutions that align with client specifications and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate renewable energy technologies into existing infrastructures.
  • Analyze energy consumption data to identify opportunities for improvement and recommend actionable strategies.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations to communicate findings and proposals to clients and stakeholders.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and advancements in lighting and renewable energy technologies.
  • Manage project timelines and budgets to ensure successful implementation of energy solutions.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to clients throughout the project lifecycle, from initial consultation to post-implementation review.
  • Participate in training sessions and workshops to educate clients and team members about energy efficiency best practices.
  • Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers to source high-quality materials and technologies for energy projects.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in energy engineering, with a focus on lighting systems and renewable technologies.
  • Proficiency in energy modeling software and tools, such as Energy Plus, eQUEST, or similar applications.
  • Strong understanding of lighting design principles, including the latest LED technologies and controls.
  • Familiarity with renewable energy systems, including solar, wind, and energy storage solutions.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Project management experience is a plus, with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to client sites as needed.
Nice to have
  • Professional Engineering (P.Eng) designation or eligibility for registration.
  • Experience with building energy management systems (BEMS) and smart building technologies.
  • Knowledge of LEED certification processes and energy efficiency standards.
  • Familiarity with local and national energy codes and regulations.
  • Experience in conducting training or workshops on energy efficiency topics.
Skills & tools
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) for reporting and presentations.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar design software for creating lighting layouts.
  • Knowledge of data analysis tools and techniques to evaluate energy performance metrics.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
  • Ability to adapt to new technologies and methodologies in the energy sector.
