Toronto Metropolitan University's Facilities Management and Development oversees the development, operations and maintenance of the university's buildings, facilities and grounds across four million square feet of space in 42 buildings on 27 acres of land.

What keeps a university running at its best behind the scenes and around the clock? In the Project Engineer role, you’ll be at the centre of ensuring the systems that power campus life are safe, reliable, and built for the future. As a Project Engineer, you will play a critical role in assessing the health and performance of TMU’s building systems, equipment, and infrastructure ensuring they meet all applicable by-laws, codes, and regulatory standards.

Your expertise will help maintain a safe, efficient, and high-performing environment for students, faculty, and staff. This particular role will focus more on high/low voltage electrical systems than other engineering fields.

Bringing strong engineering insight, you will support a wide range of facilities systems, including mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, steam, and central utilities distribution. You’ll develop and implement thoughtful, data-informed project plans that prioritize preventive, deferred, and reactive maintenance while balancing immediate needs with long-term sustainability. This particular role will focus more on high/low voltage electrical systems than other engineering fields. You will lead the planning and execution of repair, upgrade, renovation, and replacement projects, working closely with internal teams and external partners to deliver high-quality results.
