Support seniors in Scarborough with the enchanting gift of music! Become part of the SPO Musical Visitors Program, running from late August 2025 to March 2026.
This exciting initiative invites proficient musicians to perform chamber music and individually visit seniors needing companionship. Participants will engage in multiple performances while bringing comfort and joy through music to long-term care facilities. Musicians will also undergo a paid online training session to ensure preparedness for their role in this rewarding experience.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct chamber music concerts in ensembles
• Rehearse and perform for seniors at residences
• Play classical music and popular arrangements
• Interact with seniors and encourage participation
• Document audience feedback after events
Requirements:
• Proficient musician with chamber music experience
• Skill in accessible music repertoire
• Ability to engage seniors through music
• Commitment to the program schedule
