We’re actively seeking a talented Senior Actuary to join our Enterprise Project Team in Toronto, ON, Newport Beach, CA, or Omaha, NE.

Role Overview

As a Senior Actuary, you’ll play a key role in Pacific Life’s growth and success by executing critical enterprise-wide projects. You will support various actuarial projects, collaborating across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage complex actuarial projects, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
  • Support enterprise actuarial transformation efforts to improve efficiencies.
  • Implement enterprise-level actuarial reporting requirements and methodologies.
  • Support model development projects, conversions, and large-scale changes.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to senior management.
  • Explain complex actuarial concepts to non-actuarial stakeholders.
  • Implement regulatory changes involving actuarial responsibilities.
  • Support large reinsurance transactions.
  • Provide resource support across Enterprise Actuarial.
  • Mentor and train junior actuarial staff.
  • Required Experience
    • Knowledge of reporting frameworks including regulatory and management reporting.
    • Experience in optimizing work processes.
    • Proven strategic planning and time management skills.
    • Knowledge of model development platforms and data processes.
    • Familiarity with visual messaging software like PowerPoint, Tableau, Power

      BI.
    • For Senior Actuary level: 6+ years actuarial experience, 4-year degree or equivalent, FSA designation.
    Preferred Skills
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Understanding of change management.
    • Highly organized and solution-oriented.
    • Self-starter with a solutions mindset.
