Our Client, a Banking company, is looking for a Risk Analyst for their Toronto, ON location.
Responsibilities:Perform ad-hoc analyses of specific metrics/exposures/transactions as required by management and stakeholders.Managing operational risk (, cross-training, documentation, and audit).Ensure internal control processes are adequate and documentedDepartment Overview Capital Markets Risk Management (CMRM) is responsible for monitoring and providing an independent view of the Profit and Loss, Market Risk, Counterparty Risk, Liquidity Management, OTC Derivatives Collateral, and Valuation activities of the global trading activities of the Bank.Within CMRM, the Counterparty Credit Risk team (Large Exposures) works closely with all Capital Markets Risk Management teams, Client Securities Trading Business Management, Global Operations, Risk Technology, Credit Management, Global Markets, Finance, as well as external regulators to facilitate the effective monitoring of the enterprise-wide large exposures framework related to OSFI B and SCCL regulatory reporting.As a Senior Risk Analyst, you are required to demonstrate governance, control, and risk management behaviors in alignment with Client policies and practices. It is your responsibility to ensure that execution of your function is in line with documented procedures specific to your role and business.Be a leader on the team by becoming a subject matter expert, on both the risk and mapping responsibilities, related to daily/monthly/quarterly OSFI B/SCCL large exposures reporting.Generate accurate and complete daily/monthly/quarterly OSFI B/SCCL reports which include management reporting and counterparty credit limit monitoring reports.Review and research mappings that drive reporting such as business, client, product, and legal entity data.Execute infrastructure changes with regards to implementation of new or revised policies, products, or processesProvide analysis, reporting and monitoring of risk exposures and adhere to internal standards with regards to violations and the escalation of production issuesEnsure that all late or missing reports and related process metrics are recorded, documented, and explained appropriately.Propose, schedule, plan, and champion projects to improve efficiencies in order to provide more effective business supportEnsure internal control processes are adequate and documented appropriately as per the governance standards including establishing appropriate review and assessment of the quality of outputs based on business standards.Managing operational risk (, cross-training, documentation, and audit).Liaise closely with the Bank’s front office traders, Credit Risk Management (CRM), Global Counterparty Credit (GCC), audit, technology groups, and other stake holders to assist in meeting the Bank’s objectivesPerform ad-hoc analyses of specific metrics/exposures/transactions as required by management and stakeholders.Maintain a good understanding of the analytical principles underlying the risk management of all product types with credit risk, including issues that arise regarding financial modeling of products for risk purposesRequirements:Analysis of risk exposureUnderstanding of financial products – security financing transitions (repo, reverse repo, security lending)Understanding of the comprehensive approach and SACCR methodologyAttention to detailPresentation skillsMS suite – access, excel, powerpointSelf-starter with a high degree of initiative and the ability to learn and adapt quickly.Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.Strong organizational, follow-up and priority-setting skills to handle multiple tasks/projects.Self-motivated, well organized, able to work both independently and in a team environment.Strong interpersonal skills are required, as the candidate will be called upon to demonstrate leadership in the team.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Candidates with experience in Risk Management roles will be favorably positioned.Technical skills ( Excel/SQL/VBA) and CFA/FRM credentials will be viewed favorably.Short-listing questionsAnalysis of risk exposure yearsUnderstanding of financial products – security financing transitions (repo, reverse repo, security l yearsUnderstanding of the comprehensive approach and SACCR methodology yearsNice-to-havePython and SQLWhy Should You Apply?Excellent growth and advancement opportunities
