A leading global consumer goods manufacturer is seeking a dedicated Tax Specialist to join our expanding finance department. This role is designed for a proactive professional with a high degree of accuracy and experience navigating tax complexities across international borders.
Base pay rangeCA $65.00/hr - CA $95.00/hr
Primary Responsibilities- Tax Compliance & Filings: Oversee the end‑to‑end preparation and submission of multi‑jurisdictional filings, including Canadian indirect taxes (GST/HST/PST), corporate income tax, and withholding tax for cross‑border operations.
- Financial Reporting: Generate internal and external tax reports for both regional leadership and global headquarters, ensuring all documentation is submitted punctually and accurately.
- Provision Management: Lead the preparation of quarterly current and deferred tax provisions, including the development of supporting schedules and reconciliations.
- Transfer Pricing: Partner with external advisors to manage and update annual transfer pricing documentation in alignment with global regulatory standards.
- Audit Management: Act as the primary point of contact for tax‑related audits, coordinating data collection and responding to inquiries from internal and external auditors.
- Strategic Support: Collaborate with consultants on specialized tax matters and monitor evolving tax legislation to assess potential impacts on the organization’s fiscal position.
- Education: University degree in Accounting, Finance, or Taxation.
- Experience: At least 3 years of professional tax experience, specifically in corporate compliance or advisory roles.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of Canadian sales tax, corporate income tax, and withholding tax frameworks.
- Global Awareness: Prior experience with transfer pricing and multinational tax environments is highly valued.
- Competencies: Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to translate complex tax data into clear, actionable communication for stakeholders.
