Our client, a growing junior mining company with active exploration and development assets, is seeking a Controller to lead its corporate accounting and financial reporting function. This is a hands-on role ideal for a designated accounting professional who thrives in a lean, entrepreneurial environment and wants to contribute directly to the company’s growth as it advances its projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.Prepare and review financial statements, MD& A inputs, working papers, and supporting schedules.Ensure compliance with IFRS and regulatory reporting requirements for TSX-listed issuers.Liaise with external auditors and support audit planning, documentation, and review.Oversee day-to-day corporate accounting, including AP, AR, banking, payroll oversight, and cash management.Maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and financial processes.Manage consolidation and reporting across multiple entities and jurisdictions.Oversee chart of accounts, reconciliations, and general ledger integrity.Maintain project cost reporting, budget tracking, and appropriate capitalization of exploration and development costs.Support cash flow forecasting and capital planning for ongoing and future projects.Assist the CFO with budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling.Prepare analysis and reporting packages for the Board, Executive team, and investors.Support financing activities, including due diligence, data room preparation, and performance metrics.Improve accounting systems, automation, and reporting efficiency.Implement scalable processes to support future growth and project expansion.Supervise and mentor junior team members or outsourced accounting partners.
