Senior Consultant- Governance, Controls

Overview
Senior Consultant – Governance, Controls within the Head of Capital Markets Centralized Governance and Controls functions.

Responsibilities

Execute and support control testing, issue tracking, and governance routines across Capital Markets.

Partner with stakeholders (trade floor, IB/CB, CAO/support teams) to gather process details, validate controls, and communicate findings.

Contribute to control documentation, test scripts, evidence requirements, and process improvements.

Lead risk assessment, remediation, incident reporting investigation, and change initiative risk assessment (CIRA) processes.

Manage deficiencies, oversee remediation plans, and ensure timely closure.

Provide expert advice as risk and control SME, lead internal audits, compliance exams, and self‑assessment processes.

Qualifications

Strong operational risk / controls experience (testing, design, execution). Prior first‑line execution experience essential.

Excellent communication and ability to influence busy stakeholders.

Comfort in fast‑paced environments; can ramp with minimal hand‑holding.

Banking experience;
Capital Markets exposure strongly preferred.

Location
Contract position based out of Toronto, ON. Hybrid workplace.

Pay and Benefits
$70.00 – $105.00/hr.
