How you will contribute:
- Responsible to obtain and review financial information and requirements to ensure loan criteria is valid with no material adverse changes such as: rent rolls, operating statements and financial/net worth statements
- Manage assigned mortgage portfolio proactively to ensure that all required conditions for commercial mortgages are fulfilled and to satisfaction of investors and CMHC
- Working knowledge of commercial lending, underwriting and understanding core documents
- Ability to review, make recommendations to Senior Management on property insurance renewals and other documentation as required
- Knowledge of Mortgage Products and functions within Mortgage Servicing that include but not limited to, document management, payment processing, statements, insurance and annual financial reviews
- Adherence to policy and procedures, service levels and compliance
- Respond to inquiries and effectively interface with borrowers and other stakeholders as per servicing and policy standards
- Obtain and review solicitor final documentation as per mortgage Commitment and update mortgage system
- Ensure mortgage security is valid and legally binding and supporting documents are provided in a timely manner by solicitors. Knowledge of relevant mortgage documentation is required.
- Apply problem solving skills in solving issues and to meet service standards
- Excellent time management skills and ability to maintain and handle high volumes
- Collaborate with the team to recommend and provide process improvements to build efficiencies
- Organizational and problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Complete special projects as assigned by management
- Adhere to policies /procedures to ensure AML requirements are met, when applicable
The experience you need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce or related preferred
- Post secondary education and/ or equivalent work experience preferred
- 2-3 years of experience in Financial Services, Mortgages, preferably in commercial mortgages
- Bilingualism (French, English) required – interactions with English-speaking and French-speaking clients or partners
Working Environment and Physical Demands Analysis:
- Periods of high volume with tight timelines
- Long periods of stationary position/sitting
- Prolonged periods of repetitive movement (i.e. using a keyboard and mouse)
- Long periods of time in viewing a computer screen
- Multi-tasking may include speaking to customers on a telephone call while looking up information on a computer program.
