Investment Associate

Overview

Harbour Vest Partners is seeking an Associate candidate in Toronto to sit on both the firm’s Direct and Primary Investment Teams. As an Associate, you will evaluate both funds and companies, engaging in sourcing, due diligence, and investment management. You will be deeply involved in managing our investment portfolio and supporting all aspects of the Canadian business, including reporting and interfacing with our partners and clients.

This position will be a hybrid work arrangement. You will receive 18 remote workdays per quarter to use at your discretion, subject to manager approval. For example, you may choose to work in the office 4 days per week and take one remote day weekly (typically 13 weeks per quarter), leaving 5 additional remote days to be used as needed.

You will:

• Conduct investment analysis and actively participate in investment discussions.
• Sourcing, due diligence, and investment management of both funds and companies.
• Explore a spectrum of industries from tech to healthcare, focusing on venture and growth-stage technology businesses.
• Work closely with senior leaders and support all aspects of the Canadian business, including reporting and interfacing with partners and clients.

• Academic inclination in finance, business, or accounting.
• Strong quantitative, analytical and Excel skills.

• Extreme level of maturity and ability to multi-task with little direct supervision.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, CFA is an asset.

2 – 3 years of investment banking, private equity/VC investing, or related consulting experience.
