Our client, a top banking client in Canada, is looking to hire Financial Reporting Analyst for their team with a contract for 6 Months with potential extension or conversion to Permanent. Hybrid role, 1 to 2 days/week in office (Wed./Thu.) in Downtown Toronto.

Work Schedule: 37.5 hours per week; 9am-5pm;
Monday - Friday. Potential for rotational Sunday shifts.

Job Description:

The resource will provide individual, team, and channel/segment reports for supported lines of businesses, including but not limited to Retail Market, Wealth Management, and Business Banking.

Daily Job Duties/Activities:

As a Reporting Analyst, Financial Reporting - Performance Reporting & Support, you will join the Finance department to produce performance, recognition, and partner referral reports, investigate report discrepancies, and provide analytical support for various stakeholders. You will complete period-end reconciliation processes and required adjustment entries, and report verification. In addition, prepare ad-hoc analysis and reports towards senior management to support timely and adequate decision-making.

You will verify the accuracy of business partner-provided data and ranking results, including investigations to resolve a variety of changing and diverse problems, to ensure that regulatory and reporting policies and procedures are met.

The successful incumbent will provide individual, team, and channel/segment reports for supported lines of businesses, including but not limited to Telephone Banking, Customer Contact centers, Retail Market, Wealth Management, Business Banking, and NSL.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Produce regular performance and analytical reports for various groups, prepare commentary of observations and analyses to explain month-over-month and quarter-over-quarter fluctuations, and produce weekly attestation packages.
  • Review and recommend approval of commission and Partner Referral adjustment submissions. Prepare routine adjustment entries in accordance with reporting and process schedules, and adhere to regulatory guidelines and Partner Referral Program.
  • Confirm and reconcile report results against information sources to ensure proper control, reconciliation of systems, and accuracy.
  • Utilize technical tools such as Essbase, Tableau, and Oracle to resolve business issues and produce reports with the use of pre-coded Microsoft Access queries.
  • Perform regular entries on the internal spreadsheets and/or database systems and provide analytical support to various internal user-groups.
  • Assist with the development of new reports, business projects/initiatives, control policies, and testing of new changes to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulatory bodies.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of validation and attestation processes and procedures to support the adequacy of source data and metrics.
  • Conduct in-depth analyses of the outputs of operational risk management and reporting procedures to assess their effectiveness and identify potential weaknesses.

Must Haves:

  • Strong knowledge of Excel.
  • Experience with MS Access.
  • Knowledge of Essbase/Smart View.
  • 1+ years of related business experience (Preferably in finance or data analyzing).

Nice to have:

  • Smartview experience.
  • Tableau experience.
  • Some SAS experience.
  • Alteryx experience.
  • Understanding of computer languages (concepts, algorithms, understanding of how programming works).
