Accounting Clerk - Senior

Our client is a top financial institution with significant North American holdings. They have operations across most major verticals, including institutional & corporate, wealth management, private client, commercial banking, treasury, and retail banking.

Introduction: Robertson is seeking a skilled Payment Analyst to join our client in support of an existing vacancy.

Contract Period: 6 months with potential to extend or convert

Pay Rate: Starting from $24 per hour

Location: Toronto, ON

Location Type: Hybrid; 2 to 3 days onsite

Hours:

Monday-Friday; 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

• Classify, record, and summarize numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records, using journals and ledgers or computers
• Calculate, prepare, and issue bills, invoices, account statements, and other financial statements according to established procedures
• Debit, credit, and total accounts on computer spreadsheets and databases, using specialized accounting software
• Perform other duties as assigned

• College Diploma or equivalent required
• 3-5 years financial and/or accounting experience required
• Excellent customer service experience
• Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and critical thinking
• Experience in accounts payable / financial concepts, practices and workflow
• Knowledge of the financial / accounts payable business and corporate processes and procedures
• Knowledge of sales tax systems / legislations for the appropriate jurisdictions
• Previous experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and any other related accounting software (COUPA)
• Excel is used (intermediate - V lookup, pivot tables mandatory). Macro a plus
• Ability to work independently and manage one’s time
• Previous Banking Industry Experience
• Professional Accounting Certification
