Job description
This is a true builder role for an FP&A leader who wants ownership, visibility, and the mandate to professionalize planning at scale.
You’ll step into an organization at a major inflection point, already large, already complex, and now moving fast. The business is profitable, acquisitive, and backed by sophisticated financial sponsors who value clarity, cadence, and credible forward‑looking insight.
Whats missing is not reporting accuracy - its planning leadership.
Thats where you come in.
The MandateYou will own and elevate corporate FP&A end‑to‑end :
- Build a forward‑looking planning, forecasting, and consolidation engine
- Establish a disciplined cadence for budgets, forecasts, and long‑range plans
- Translate financial data into executive‑ready narrative and insight
- Serve as the central FP&A hub for executives, the Board, and financial sponsors
- Scale FP&A processes to support rapid, M&A‑driven growth
- This role exists because the business has outgrown good enough.
- The expectation is clarity, confidence, and control - at speed.
Own Corporate FP&A
- Lead consolidation and all corporate FP&A outputs
- Prepare executive, Board, and investor‑level materials
- Act as the central FP&A hub across the organization
- Own annual budgeting, re‑forecasting, and long‑range planning
- Establish a structured forecasting cadence (quarterly + rolling views)
- Drive scenario modelling to support growth, capital, and M&A decisions
- Work closely with senior leaders across Operations, HR, IT, and Corporate
- Translate financial data into clear, executive‑ready insight
- Identify risks, opportunities, and levers to improve EBITDA and margins
- Lead and mentor a small FP&A team (Manager + Senior Analysts)
- Raise the bar on analytical rigour, storytelling, and accountability
- Build a forward‑looking FP&A culture, not a reporting factory
- Operationalize a recently implemented planning platform
- Improve data flow, automation, and reporting efficiency
- Help prepare the finance function for the next stage of enterprise scale
- Not a passive reporting role
- Not a narrow analytics seat
- Not a wait‑for‑direction FP&A job
- You’re expected to set the cadence, own the narrative, and lead from the front.
- You’re an experienced FP&A leader who has built, not just inherited :
- 10+ years in FP&A, strategic finance, or corporate finance
- Proven ownership of budgeting, forecasting, and planning cycles
- Experience in a multi‑location, complex operating environment
- Comfort operating in PE‑backed or high‑growth businesses
- Strong consolidation, modelling, and executive communication skills
- Forward‑looking thinking
- Clear financial judgment
- Executive presence
- The ability to turn complex data into a compelling story
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to tell a story about the numbers
- True ownership of corporate FP&A
- High visibility with executive leadership and financial sponsors
- A platform expected to double in scale
- Clear runway to Senior Director / VP‑level scope
- The chance to build something meaningful and be known for it
- Toronto‑based hybrid role (4 days in office)
- Competitive base salary with performance bonus
- Designed as a career‑accelerating leadership role
