An established, dynamic investment management firm in downtown Toronto seeks a Portfolio Management Analyst to join its portfolio management team. They will be responsible for creating investment policy statements and client presentations; generating portfolio audits and transition plans, capital planning analyses; and assisting portfolio managers and associate portfolio managers in servicing clients. The successful candidate will communicate regularly with other members of the Portfolio Management Group, Client Service Group, Compliance, and Finance teams, as well as clients and their professionals.
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced and proactive individual to become a key member of an entrepreneurial, independent, and client‑centric multi‑Family Office that values and rewards strong contributors.
- 2 to 6 years of direct experience in a regulated investment or wealth advisory environment.
- Good knowledge of Morningstar Direct and Navi Plan (or comparable financial planning software).
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Undergraduate degree or higher is required; a business degree is preferred.
- Applicant must be a CFA Level 2 candidate or higher.
- Other industry certifications such as a CFP are a significant positive.
- Downtown Toronto, Ontario; currently a hybrid work environment.
- Draft client presentations using the firm’s template and assist in preparing the team for client meetings.
- Assist portfolio managers in presenting to and servicing clients.
- Assist in taking meeting minutes and tracking action items.
- Assist in the scheduling of client meetings.
- Work with the portfolio management, client service and compliance teams to coordinate the onboarding of new clients and accounts.
- Assist portfolio managers in fulfilling regulatory and custodial requirements.
- Assist in the management of existing client accounts (e.g., tracking registered account contributions, monitoring withdrawal strategies, etc.).
- Draft and coordinate communications with clients and their accounting, tax, and legal professionals as requested.
- Liaise directly with clients as requested.
- Draft initial client investment policy statements for review.
- Assist in the development of portfolio transition plans and their implementation.
- Enter and update clients’ target asset mixes in the firm’s portfolio management software.
- Analyze portfolios and/or investments of prospective and existing clients as required.
- Assist in client cash management including developing plans, coordinating cash transfers and forecasting portfolio cash distribution levels.
- Review portfolios for tax loss harvesting opportunities as well as tax and cost efficiency gains.
- Draft and update client capital duration projections for review by senior team members.
- Help analyze and advise on client portfolio strategy and liquidity management by assessing the income and investment tax characteristics of each household member; pension and government entitlements; insurance considerations; portfolio accumulation and decumulation planning; and gifting and intergenerational strategies.
- Other portfolio analyses as required.
- Investment vehicle due diligence and monitoring of various investment mandates.

Permanent - Attendance at the downtown office is currently required two days a week at a minimum.
