Senior Manager, Credit Documentation
Senior Manager – Credit Documentation within Scotia Wealth Management. You will ensure the integrity and regulatory compliance of credit documentation for Private Banking, acting as the Subject Matter Expert and overseeing the end‑to‑end process of preparing credit agreements and loan documentation.
Responsibilities- Serve as Subject Matter Expert for credit documentation, providing advisory support on complex credit structures.
- Ensure documentation standards align with regulatory and internal policy requirements.
- Own and evolve documentation templates, standards, and tools for Private Banking.
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and reduce turnaround times.
- Design and oversee quality assurance protocols to ensure accuracy and audit readiness.
- Review loan documentation to identify gaps and negative trends.
- Provide coaching and guidance to Credit Documentation Specialists and Credit Support Officers.
- Identify training needs and assist in developing and delivering effective programs.
- Stay current on policy, process, and regulatory changes impacting credit documentation.
- Build strong working relationships across teams and business lines.
- Foster a culture of open communication, collaboration, and high performance.
- Develop and execute meaningful employee development plans.
- Ensure adherence to Scotiabank’s risk appetite, Code of Conduct, and Global Sales Principles.
- Maintain effective business controls to meet operational, compliance, AML/ATF, and conduct risk obligations.
- University degree in business, finance, accounting, or related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in financial services with strong credit skills.
- In‑depth knowledge of credit policies, practices, and loan documentation.
- Expert understanding of complex loan and security documentation requirements.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
- Fluency in English; bilingual in French preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of Power BI and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of Wealth Management offerings (Scotiatrust, Private Investment Counsel, Scotia Mc Leod , MD Financial Management).
