Student, Investment Accounting (Summer 2026, 8 Months)
Join OMERS as an Investment Accounting student. We seek a highly motivated student with strong attention to detail, analytical skills, problem‑solving ability, and a willingness to learn. Ideally, you have an interest in accounting for financial instruments, a desire to work on a variety of deliverables and projects, and an ability to remain organized.
Responsibilities- Assist the team with month‑end and mid‑year close processes.
- Participate in process‑enhancement projects and ad‑hoc analysis.
- Consolidate feeds from business units and reconcile reports from various systems.
- Perform variance analysis and prepare financial statement notes.
- Provide operational support for OMERS’ borrowing program.
- Interact with investment accounting teams across OMERS – Private Equity, Capital Markets, Infrastructure, and Oxford Properties.
- Currently enrolled in university or college.
- Pursuing an undergraduate degree in business, preferably in accounting.
- Tech‑savvy, highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint; experience with Alteryx/Power Query and Power BI a plus).
- Strong communication skills – verbal and written, with high interpersonal ability.
- Resourceful: strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, and ability to conduct research.
- Hard‑working, quick learner, self‑motivated with strong work ethic and meticulous attention to detail.
- Team player who embraces collaborative sharing of knowledge.
- High performer, driven to achieve results and continuously delivering high quality outcomes.

The expected salary range for this position is $44,850.00 – $56,550.00 per year, prorated based on the term of the contract.
