The Opportunity

We're looking for a Senior Analyst, MAP Investment Research & Oversight to join our Asset Management Investment team. Reporting to the VP Manager Research & Oversight, the Senior Analyst will be primarily responsible for the external manager research and oversight function for Aviso's Managed Asset Program (MAP). Leveraging advanced qualitative and quantitative research capabilities, the Senior Analyst will generate actionable insights that enhance investment performance, strengthen manager relationships, and expand the analytical depth of the investment team.

What your day looks like
  • Serve as the primary liaison to the MAP team, supporting new manager searches and ongoing oversight.
  • Oversee sub‑advisors and improve the MAP program's oversight process, including monthly monitoring, quarterly performance attribution review and annual due diligence.
  • Conduct ongoing manager research, review managers/strategies and keep up to date with industry trends for opportunities.
  • Research and search for new proposed MAP products.
  • Monitor and evaluate platform product performance, identifying opportunities for optimization.
  • Act as subject‑matter expert on MAP products, provide insights and guidance, present strategies and performance updates to MAP clients and the sales team.
  • Assist in producing monthly, quarterly or ad‑hoc reporting, ensuring accuracy and strategic value.
  • Review and refine quarterly manager commentaries and semi‑annual MRFP commentaries for sub‑advised strategies.
  • Assist in producing in‑depth research reports and presenting findings.
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
Requirements – Your experience and skills
  • University degree in Business, Science, Math or quantitative fields.
  • CFA charter holder; other finance designations (CAIA, CPA) an asset.
  • Master’s degree in Business, Finance or a related quantitative discipline an asset.
  • 8‑10 years’ overall work experience in asset management, wealth management or investment consulting.
  • 5‑10 years’ experience in external manager research, oversight and evaluation.

  • Proven track record of evaluating and managing relationships with external investment managers.
  • Advanced analytical tool skills (eVestment, Morningstar Direct, Bloomberg, Refinitiv, Fact Set) or ability to learn quickly.
  • Fluent English communication; bilingual French an asset.
  • Experience researching global institutional investment strategies and making actionable recommendations.
  • Strong understanding of wealth‑management platforms, investment products and portfolio construction.
  • Quantitative experience or working with large data sets an asset.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and MS Office.

Salary

Expected salary range: $115,000 – $135,000 CAD annually.
