Opportunity

As a BTI Finance Tax Staff or Senior Tax Staff in our Toronto office, you will embark on an exciting journey to deepen your tax expertise, gain a sophisticated understanding of business drivers and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Canadian business by helping clients navigate a constantly evolving landscape of new incentives. Your work will directly impact innovative projects that may contribute to the Canadian economy for years to come.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in scoping sessions to determine if there are eligible SRED projects or expenditures
  • Assist with the preparation of the tax submission
  • Work with systems and tools related to SRED and tax incentives
  • Review expenditures on major capital projects
  • Assist with and or lead reviews with the Canada Revenue Agency
  • Manage client expectations and meet client deliverable deadlines
  • Work as part of a national, cross-functional team

  • A strong drive and motivation to excel in a tax technology environment.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills, with a proven ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • A process-oriented mindset and exceptional documentation skills.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting or related discipline
  • Strong skills in Excel, SharePoint and familiarity with tax preparation software
  • Two or more years’ experience in accounting or tax; knowledge of the SRED program is an asset.
  • Previous experience in a professional services firm in a tax or audit capacity is an asset
