Reporting To: Manager and Team Lead, Third Party Residential Underwriting
Responsibilities- Support the underwriting and credit decision process by reviewing all required documentation and applying due diligence.
- Escalate any inaccuracies, issues, or incomplete items that may present risk to the Company.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with mortgage brokers, mortgage insurers, appraisers, title insurance companies, and solicitors.
- Collect and verify required documents to satisfy mortgage commitment conditions.
- Review and verify accuracy of documentation related to income, down payment, and property under compliance with internal and regulatory guidelines.
- Document clear and complete notes within the mortgage underwriting system.
- Respond to all inquiries within established turnaround times.
- Adhere to policies and procedures to ensure AML requirements are met.
- Completed post‑secondary education or equivalent work experience.
- Previous experience within Financial Services sector preferred.
- Previous experience within the Mortgage industry is an asset.
- Completion of Mortgage Agent Course and/or FSRA License is an asset.
- Working knowledge of PC software in a Windows environment.
- Strong aptitude for service excellence.
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships.
- Strong communication skills—both written and verbal.
- Ability to deal with conflict.
- Analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
- Positive team player.
- Competent with basic PC software and Microsoft Office suite.
