Our client, a well‑established manufacturing company in North York
, is seeking an experienced Contract Controller to support their finance function during a critical period. This Controller role is being recruited on a contract basis and is ideal for a hands‑on financial leader with strong manufacturing and operational accounting experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations including GL, AP, AR, and month‑end close
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and year‑end financial close processes
  • Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with ASPE
  • Manage cost accounting, inventory valuation, and manufacturing variances
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
  • Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies
  • Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and banking partners
  • Improve financial reporting, processes, and controls as required
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis to support operational decision‑making

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience
  • Previous experience as a Controller or Senior Finance Manager
  • Strong background in manufacturing accounting
  • Hands‑on experience with cost accounting
  • Hands‑on experience with inventory management
  • Hands‑on experience with variance analysis

    Hands‑on experience with month‑end close
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel
  • Experience with ERP systems (Net Suite, SAP, Oracle, or similar strongly preferred)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionally
  • Location:

    North York, ON

    On‑site or hybrid (based on operational requirements)
