Description:
** Casual Payroll Administrator (Maternity Leave Full time hours - up to 12 months)
** This is an onsite role [#LI-Onsite]

** About the Role
*** Validate the work of Payroll Clerks, ensuring payroll calculations and data input comply with policies, procedures, and legislation.
* Provide guidance on payroll processing and compliance.
* Direct the daily workflow of pay processing to ensure timely completion and adherence to deadlines.
* Review reports daily to identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies and input errors.
* Analyze current processes and recommend improvements to enhance the department's efficiency and productivity; assist in implementing new initiatives.
* Test payroll system releases and legislative/collective agreement changes, preparing test cases, verifying results, and reporting outcomes.
* Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations.
* Manage third-party payments.
* Assist in the processing of T4s and T4
As.
** About You
*** PCP (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) designation an asset.
* 3-5 years of payroll experience in a high-volume environment preferred.
* Strong knowledge of payroll legislation and experience working with collective agreements.
* Experience with journal entries and payroll account reconciliations.
* Experience with Workday payroll systems is an asset.
* Demonstrated sound judgment, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong interpersonal, client service, communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
* Proficiency in MS Excel, Access, Word, and Outlook.
* Required to work in the office 4 days a week.
