Position: Execution Trader - Electronic Markets  )

Reports to: Global Head of Trading

Overview

We are seeking a motivated Execution Trader with 1–2 years of professional trading experience and a strong foundation in electronically traded markets. This role is ideal for candidates who understand emerging markets, have hands‑on experience with spot and derivatives instruments (including perpetual‑style contracts and funding rate mechanics), and are eager to support trading operations under the guidance of senior traders. The focus will be on US and Canadian markets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute trades and monitor positions during US market hours
  • Conduct market research and analyze trends, news, and economic indicators affecting US and Canadian electronic markets
  • Assist senior traders in refining trading strategies and risk management processes
  • Track and report trade activity and portfolio performance using dashboards and spreadsheets
  • Collaborate with developers, traders, and other team members to ensure efficient and accurate trade execution
  • Maintain strict adherence to risk limits, procedures, and trading protocols
  • Stay informed on emerging financial products, innovations in electronic markets, and relevant regulatory developments
Requirements
  • 1–2 years of professional trading experience or a strong foundation in electronically traded markets
  • Prior experience trading spot or derivatives instruments is highly preferred
  • Solid understanding of leverage, funding mechanics, and derivatives products
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or related field
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Familiarity with spreadsheets or basic scripting for trade tracking; programming knowledge is a plus
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced trading environment
  • Willingness to work on‑site in Toronto and participate in structured training
  • Flexibility to work additional hours if required
