What is the opportunity?Reporting to the Associate Director, Financial and Regulatory Reporting, The Manager, Financial and Regulatory Reporting will influence and oversee the regulatory financial reporting to Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO) for certain legal entities within the Wealth Management and Capital Markets platforms. Through working with various internal teams/business partners and analyzing financial data, you will provide monthly and annual financial information to external regulators;prepare variance commentaries for senior management; prepare analytical work for quarterly board packs and coordinate the smooth execution of internal and external audits for these legal entities. This individual will influence and drive change by assisting with special projects and transformation initiatives, and add value through the identification of efficiency gains and evolving current processes.
What will you do?
Ensure timely submission of monthly regulatory financial reports to regulators (CIRO) in accordance with various frameworks.
Conduct quarterly and annual counterparty classification scrubs to ensure class codes are correctly assigned. This process requires collaboration with various internal departments, independently assess financial information and retain relevant documents for audit purposes.
Review and assess files prepared by other departments for accuracy and completeness.
Facilitate the monitoring of organizational targets through the weekly Risk Adjusted Capital (RAC) estimates.
Conduct timely regulatory margin testing in clients and brokers sections and perform ad hoc analysis, fee calculation and reporting as required
Facilitate the annual external audit and regulatory examinations;
Prepare and conduct monthly conference calls with internal departments to understand key transactions, reporting issues, system changes and upcoming projects.
Drive change to support management in identifying areas for streamlining and simplification of working papers, redesign existing processes, and implement automation to optimize efficiency.
