Senior Associate, Tax

Responsibilities

Research various tax related issues and conclude on their potential implications

Assist in research and preparation of tax-planning strategies for our clients and on the preparation and review of complex tax returns

Collect and analyze relevant financial and tax data

Actively engage in tax compliance, planning and strategy development by analyzing client tax issues, relevant tax laws, provisions, and jurisprudence

Develop and apply knowledge of the Canadian Income Tax Act and other tax related legislations

Collaborate with engagement teams to plan timelines, risk assessments, and other documents

Identify issues and errors, investigate discrepancies

Assist in preparation of election forms

Participate in business development initiatives and identify new business opportunities

Other duties as assigned

Skills and Experience

3+ years of relevant experience in a senior role

You have completed or are pursuing your Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) designation

In progress of the CPA in-depth tax program or MTAX

Possess enthusiasm for the profession and learning

Strong computer literacy including effective working skills of Microsoft Excel and Word

Strong interpersonal skills including excellent written and oral communication

Customer service and/or client service experience is desirable

Other language skills is an asset. Let us know if you are fluent in other languages.

Placement within the salary range will depend on depth of experience, demonstrated skills and alignment with the scope of the role.
