Description

The Manager, FP Investment & Product Management, plays a critical role in shaping and sustaining the long-term direction of the Financial Planning business. The role is accountable for both the strategic evolution of the FP product shelf and the disciplined day-to-day management activities that support investment governance, risk oversight, and exception management across the channel.

By ensuring the product shelf evolves to meet changing client needs, supports the professional practices of Financial Planners, and drives strong business outcomes, this role serves as a key steward of product integrity, competitiveness, and best practices.

Through a balance of forward-looking strategy and operational rigor, the Manager helps ensure the FP platform remains well governed, market relevant, and positioned for continued growth.

  • Own day-to-day product governance and exception management by overseeing the review and adjudication of investment product exception requests from Financial Planners nationwide. Apply deep product expertise and sound judgment to approve or decline requests, and provide well supported recommendations to the VP, Financial Planning for escalations as required.

  • Oversee and continuously refine investment management best practices within the FP channel, including ownership and evolution of the Professional Investment Management metric to ensure it remains relevant, effective, and aligned to business priorities.

  • Serve as a key partner to Compliance, Governance and Control, Investment Management Risk, and related stakeholders to proactively identify, mitigate, and prevent risks related to suitability, concentration, and broader investment product governance matters.

  • Act as a central conduit between Financial Planning and key partners, including the Wealth Investment Office, TD Asset Management, Investment Management Risk, and Wealth Product, ensuring strong alignment and coordinated execution across the enterprise.

  • Ensure there is robust support for key investment products and solutions – and that planners have the training, insights and knowledge required for robust and informed client conversations.

  • Job Requirements

  • Experience leading and reporting on complex projects with multiple stakeholders

  • Strong analytical problem-solving abilities, including experience with data analysis, interpretation, and preparing reports or presentations

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to develop materials for planners and leaders – and comfort presenting to large audiences

  • Ability to take initiative, manage ambiguity, processes, and governance frameworks
