Job Summary The Treasury and Balance Sheet Management (TBSM) department oversees
Liquidity Risk, Capital Position, and Non-Trading Market Risk. The Cash Management team is responsible for forecasting daily cash flows, maintaining sufficient collateral for the CAD Payment System, and reconciling settlement accounts with the Bank of Canada. This role focuses on
cash management and intraday liquidity operations, ensuring accurate cash positioning, settlement completion, and real-time liquidity monitoring across multiple teams.
Key ResponsibilitiesManage Bank of Canada accountsForecast and analyze daily CAD and USD cash balancesTrade in the end-of-day interbank market to invest and fund accountsReconcile settlement balances with the Bank of CanadaComplete settlement obligationsEnsure adequate collateral for large and critical payment obligationsMonitor and explain Intraday Liquidity (Start of Day & Usage)Investigate unexpected changes in cash balancesOptimize payments and improve real-time cash efficiencyAct as liaison between Cash Management, Intraday Liquidity, and Payment teamsParticipate in industry forums and committeesRequired Experience– years of experience in Finance, Treasury, or PaymentsPost Secondary degree in Finance, Business, Risk, or related fieldAbility to work closing shift (:am–:pm)Experience working with both internal and external stakeholdersComfortable handling access to customer dataNice-to-Have ExperienceAbility to handle strong personalitiesKnowledge of AI toolsRequired SkillsTrend analysis (+ years)Strong analytical and critical thinking abilitiesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsPreferred SkillsOperational excellence and process improvementRelationship management across multiple stakeholdersAbility to work well under pressureStrong attention to detailProficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)Additional SkillsCollateral managementPayment optimizationIntraday liquidity monitoringEnd-of-day interbank tradingSettlement reconciliationAbout the Client Top bank in Canada and North America offering comprehensive financial solutions.
