Your key responsibilities

As Senior Tax Staff in our Indirect Tax practice, you’ll be responsible for working on indirect tax advisory engagements using cutting‑edge technology and work with team‑oriented colleagues.

  • Demonstrating an advanced understanding of indirect tax concepts and effectively applying this indirect tax knowledge to client situations
  • Carrying out tax technical research, drafting memos, letters of opinion and various reports as part of a client’s detailed indirect tax review
  • Developing and delivering timely services and work products that meet or exceed client expectations
  • Preparing practical and creative solutions applicable to the client’s tax situation and arriving at appropriate conclusions
  • Independently managing multiple engagements
  • Identifying future opportunities for indirect tax engagements
Skills and attributes for success
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with a proven ability to consistently meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities
  • A high level of drive and motivation along with a commitment to learning in a tax technology environment
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
To qualify for the role, you must have:
  • A bachelor’s degree, preferably with an emphasis on accounting, finance or law
  • 3 or more years of relevant, progressive Canadian tax experience
  • Enrollment in or completion of one of the following qualifications is an asset: CPA In‑depth Tax Course, CPA In‑depth GST HST Program, MTax

EY reports salary ranges in accordance with applicable provincial pay transparency legislation. Individual salaries within the anticipated salary ranges noted below are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to internal equity, education, relevant experience, knowledge, and applicable skill sets.

  • Toronto: $65,500 - $98,500
