Leads and oversees the Global Business Travel Program & Canada/ USA staff Commercial Cards team ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed / delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

• Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
• Manages the success of the global Business Travel and Canada & USA staff Commercial Cards programs by ensuring specific individual goals, plans & initiatives are executed/delivered in support of business strategies and objectives.
• Develop and execute the global business travel strategy, aligning travel program with organizational objectives, employee experience, cost management, risk and operational efficiency
• Point of escalation for business travel and commercial card issues, providing recommendations and solutions
• Ongoing collaboration with partners including procurement, finance, risk, HR, technology, legal and key stakeholders to ensure the programs meet enterprise requirements and deliver consistent experience.
• Maintain appropriate commercial card governance, controls and compliance standards.
• Bring awareness to out of policy use of business travel platforms and commercial card use. Identifying misuse, investigating and escalating where required.
• Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
• Creates an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
• Builds a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviour; communicating vison/values/business strategy; and, managing succession and development planning for the team.

• University degree or college diploma in Administration/Travel with minimum 5 years’ experience
• Detailed knowledge of travel industry
• Thorough knowledge of contract negotiation and management
• Spanish language is considered an asset
• Proven analytical abilities
• Working knowledge of Bank accounting and controls
• Working knowledge of Bank’s organizational structure
• Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications
• Hours of work are occasionally outside the standard work hours in order to meet deliverables in other time zones

Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence. Limited travel domestically.
