Associate Mortgage Underwriter

Join First National as an Associate Mortgage Underwriter in Toronto, ON. This full-time role focuses on ensuring accuracy in mortgage documentation and building relationships with brokers and partners.

Reporting to the Manager, you will support the underwriting and credit decision process while maintaining strong relationships with mortgage brokers and external partners. Responsibilities include verifying documentation, escalating issues, and ensuring compliance with internal and regulatory guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Establish positive relationships with mortgage brokers

• Collect required documents from brokers

• Verify documentation accuracy related to income and property

• Document notes clearly within the underwriting system

• Adhere to policies for AML compliance

Requirements:

• Post-secondary education or equivalent experience

• Previous experience in Financial Services preferred

• Experience in the Mortgage industry an asset

• Strong communication and analytical skills

• Ability to manage high-volume processing
