Associate, Capital Markets (CMHC Securitization)

$100,000–$115,000 base plus very high discretionary bonus, benefits & other perks

Toronto, ON - onsite

Our client is a well-established, Canadian private equity real estate investment firm with a diversified national portfolio spanning growth, income, urban, mortgage lending, and affordable housing strategies. They are currently seeking an Associate, Capital Markets to join their lending platform, reporting to the Associate Director, Capital Markets. In this role, you'll take ownership of the MBS administration and monitoring of a portfolio of commercial CMHC-insured multifamily mortgages, working closely with a small, tight-knit capital markets team and helping manage relationships with investors.

We're open to candidates from a broad range of real estate or financial services backgrounds — experience with the CMHC NHA MBS Program, Mortgage Hub, or securitization is a strong asset but not a deal breaker.

Responsibilities
  • Support the creation, administration, and reporting of multifamily NHA MBS pools from issuance through maturity, including submitting required forms and documentation to CMHC, CPTA, and investors on a timely basis
  • Prepare and reconcile daily, monthly, and pool-level investor remittances against the NHA MBS Guide's requirements, prepare associated wire remittances, and track cash balances to ensure sufficient funds
  • Work with internal teams to proactively address missed payments and monitor compliance with NHA MBS & MLI Select requirements impacting securitization
  • Respond to audit requests from internal and external auditors, and support preparation of the annual Agreed-Upon Procedures Report
  • Complete special ad hoc projects as required, including process-improvement initiatives, leveraging AI and other tools to improve efficiencies
Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, or a related field
  • 2–3 years of relevant work experience, preferably within real estate or financial services
  • Experience with the CMHC NHA MBS Program and Mortgage Hub is preferred
  • Experience with securitization is considered an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention-to-detail and a solutions-driven mindset
