Commercial Banking Associate Training Program

Develop commercial banking expertise at CIBC through structured training, financial analysis, and client relationship support in Toronto. Learn through classroom and on-the-job training.

As a Commercial Banking Associate, you will support account teams across client acquisition, relationship management, and transactional financing support. You will assist Commercial Banking Managers with existing relationships and new financing transactions. The program builds knowledge of products, processes, networks, and functions for eventual progression toward Relationship Manager responsibilities. Training includes credit structuring, risk assessment, and cash management, supported by coaching, mentoring, and virtual learning sessions.

• Support client acquisition, relationship management, and financing transactions
• Prepare financial and industry analysis for deal teams
• Research clients, prospects, industries, and business growth opportunities
• Prepare credit submission structuring and documentation
• Participate in sales cycles and business development initiatives

• Experience in the field with financial statement understanding
• Knowledge of accounting principles, valuation techniques, and cash flow analysis
• Interest in commercial banking products and service offerings
• Strong written, spoken, listening, and relationship-building communication skills
• Ability to collaborate, analyze opportunities, and provide client-focused solutions
