Expense Management Finance Manager

Lead expense management at Sun Life through financial modelling, variance analysis, and hybrid collaboration across business partners. Support insurance and wealth decision-making.

As Manager, Expense Management, you will support Retail Advice & Solutions with accurate, timely financial information. You will allocate operating expenses by product group, analyze gain/gap drivers, calculate unit costs, and lead planning activities. The role partners with valuation actuaries, Canadian Finance, Canadian Operations, and the Client Experience Office.

• Prepare gain/gap, unit cost, commission, and business review deliverables
• Analyze results, variances, key drivers, and business performance
• Lead annual planning, budgeting, and quarterly forecasting activities
• Lead the RA&S Expense Study every two to three years
• Mentor staff and support knowledge transfer

• Five to seven years of accounting experience
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and detail-oriented skills
• Excellent communication skills for explaining complex concepts
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Hyperion reporting
• Ability to manage deliverables, priorities, and deadlines
