Team Lead, French Language Health Services -Bilingual; English/French

Job term: 1 temporary position up to 12 months with the possibility of an extension.
About the unitThe French Language Services Office (FLSO) provides strategic advice, guidance and support to the ministry with regard to the requirements of the French Language Services Act, French language services‑related obligations and performance measures, and issues or initiatives with implications for the French‑speaking community in Ontario. The FLSO works in partnership with the Ministry of Francophone Affairs, assists the ministry in its relationship with the French Language Services Commissioner, and serves as the secretariat for the French Language Health Services Advisory Council.
Responsibilities- Lead teams to develop policies and programs.
- Plan and carry out research and analysis to identify issues, trends, and options for improving programs.
- Set project goals, resource needs, and measures to guide policy and program work.
- Support the rollout of new policies and programs across the province.
- Work with key partners and other governments to gather input, solve problems, and keep policy approaches aligned.
- Provide clear advice, analysis, and briefing materials to senior leaders, and coordinate responses and submissions as needed.
- Mandatory requirements

Oral and written French language skills at the superior level, verified by an Ontario Public Service approved evaluator. - Leadership
:- Leadership skills to lead multi‑disciplinary teams in developing recommendations, strategies and policy options.
- Ability to lead diverse cross‑ministry and inter‑jurisdictional working groups.
- Project management
:- Project management experience providing direction and guidance to project teams.
- Proven experience leading complex projects from planning through implementation.
- Risk management and problem‑solving skills to anticipate and address challenges.
- Capacity to think strategically and align projects with long‑term organizational goals.
- Interpersonal and communication
:- Facilitation and influencing skills to gain support for initiatives and mitigate risks.
- Partnership building skills to develop effective linkages with stakeholders and skilled associations.
- Experience facilitating meetings and consultations to drive engagement and decision‑making.
- Political acuity to liaise with senior staff.
- Knowledge
:- Ability to apply policy and program development principles and techniques.
- Knowledge of government decision‑making and accountability processes.
- Understanding of the broad range of political, social, and economic issues and trends impacting the sector.
- Knowledge of Ontario's French‑language community, key stakeholders, and relevant legislation, policy issues, priorities, and challenges.
- Research and analytical
:- Research skills to design and organize trends and environmental scans.
- Ability to interpret complex data and translate insights into actionable policy recommendations.
- Skills to analyze processes and identify opportunities for continuous improvements.
