Join OFIFC in Toronto as an Indigenous Policy Advisor and make a difference in urban Indigenous communities. This full-time hybrid position focuses on policy advocacy and community engagement.
As a Policy Advisor at OFIFC, you will play a crucial role in analyzing public policies affecting Friendship Centres. Your responsibilities include conducting research and developing Indigenous-led solutions to advocate for self-determination and improved quality of life. You will also cultivate relationships with key stakeholders to prioritize community needs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Analyze public policy issues impacting Friendship Centres
• Engage with community stakeholders for informed advocacy
• Prepare briefing notes, submissions, and reports
• Promote strengths-based approaches in policy development
• Chair meetings and support internal committees
Requirements:
• Post-secondary degree in related fields
• 2-3 years of relevant policy experience
• Proven ability to establish rapport with Indigenous communities
• Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
