Director, Ontario Government Relations

The CBA is committed to advancing the banking industry’s interests and fostering a collaborative environment that promotes effective government relations.

Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Government Relations, the Director, Ontario Government Relations will work collaboratively in the development and implementation of the CBA’s Ontario government relations outreach strategies.

• Provide information and advice, responding to inquiries, and liaising with other CBA staff and member banks on issues of interest and concern to the industry or policymakers.
• Participate in the planning and preparation for CBA engagement with legislative committees.
• Collaborate and participate with the CBA Government Relations division in engaging CBA committees in relevant advocacy efforts on behalf of the industry.
• Contribute to the development and review of draft CBA submissions to provincial governments to ensure that the tone and substance consider current views and areas of interest of elected representatives and other policy makers.
• At the direction of, and in coordination with, the Senior Vice President and others at the CBA, develop and manage special projects/events involving member banks and government representatives to showcase industry work, expertise, and views of public policy issues.
• Work in partnership with the Marketing and Communications division on the development of strategies and content for CBA communications materials for elected officials, political staff, and other key decision-makers in your region, and the promotion of CBA programs.
