Shape impactful policy change as a Policy Advisor at OFIFC, based in Toronto. This hybrid role focuses on advancing Indigenous priorities for Friendship Centres through thoughtful analysis and advocacy.
The OFIFC seeks a dedicated Policy Advisor to address urban Indigenous community challenges. In this full-time position, you will analyze existing policies, advocate for Indigenous-led solutions, and collaborate with various stakeholders. Your insights will help inform critical public policy strategies that uplift Friendship Centres.
Key Responsibilities:
• Research and evaluate sector-specific policy issues
• Foster relationships with Friendship Centres and allies
• Develop position papers and advocacy materials
• Ensure policy alignment with Urban Indigenous Action Plan
• Participate in community engagement and advocacy events
Requirements:
• Degree in Public Policy, Political Science, or similar
• 2-3 years of policy analysis or community work experience
• Strong communication and public speaking skills
• Proficiency in understanding Indigenous community needs
• Self-motivated and goal-oriented mindset
