Enterprise Canada is looking for a Consultant or Senior Consultant to join our Ontario Government Relations team in Toronto
.
This is an opportunity to work on high-profile public affairs files and government mandates across sectors including education, healthcare, technology, manufacturing, energy, infrastructure, and economic development. We’re looking for someone who understands Ontario politics, knows how government decisions get made, and can help clients navigate complex policy and stakeholder environments.
The ideal candidate will bring experience from government, politics, public affairs, or a related field, along with strong writing skills, political judgment, and an ability to build relationships with government and stakeholder audiences. A strong understanding of the current government and Ontario’s political landscape is essential.
What You’ll Do- Support and execute government relations and advocacy strategies for clients across Ontario
- Build and maintain relationships with government officials, political staff, and key stakeholders
- Monitor political, legislative, regulatory, and policy developments, particularly related to the Ontario government
- Prepare briefing notes, stakeholder maps, presentations, speaking points, letters, meeting materials, and strategic advice for clients
- Support and participate in meetings with government and stakeholder representatives
- Help clients navigate complex political and policy environments
- Contribute to media relations, issues management, and communications strategies where needed
- Manage multiple files and deadlines, coordinating with colleagues across jurisdictions when necessary
- Support business development opportunities, proposals, and new client initiatives
- Relevant experience in government, politics, public affairs, communications, or consulting
- Strong understanding of Ontario politics, government decision-making, and the current government
- Existing relationships within government, political offices, stakeholder groups, or industry networks are considered a strong asset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong political judgment and attention to detail
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively across teams
- Experience leading files, managing relationships, or supporting advocacy strategies is considered an asset
- Interest in public policy, communications, and current affairs
