Strategic Government Relations Consultant

Position: Strategic Government Relations Consultant Role
Enhance municipal relations strategy as a Government Relations Consultant at Toronto Hydro in a hybrid environment. This role requires strong skills in policy analysis and stakeholder engagement.

As part of your responsibilities, you will work directly with senior leadership on policy alignment, risk mitigation, and effective advocacy on emerging issues. Your ability to liaise with elected officials and conduct in-depth analyses will be essential in managing both internal and external stakeholder relationships. This role is designed for a candidate motivated by public policy and strategic communications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as a key liaison with elected officials

• Develop strategies to mitigate identified risks

• Provide analysis on issues affecting Toronto Hydro

• Conduct environmental scanning for best practices

• Report on City Council developments

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field

• Five years’ experience in communications or government relations

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Experience with municipalities preferred

• Proven political acuity
