Position: Toronto Housing Benefits Officer Position
Become a Housing Benefits Officer with the City of Toronto, specializing in the Rent Geared to Income Program. This full-time, temporary role focuses on client management and program compliance.

In this pivotal position, you will support the Housing Secretariat by managing a portfolio of households and landlords, ensuring they meet the compliance requirements of the Rent Geared to Income program. Your key responsibility will be to conduct rent calculations and provide exceptional customer service to clients in need, all while ensuring adherence to local housing policies. The role requires a commitment of 35 hours a week, Monday to Friday, for 12 months.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support diverse clients through administrative processes

• Confirm eligibility and compliance for assistance programs

• Match applicants to appropriate housing opportunities

• Process inquiries from landlords and residents

• Maintain accurate household records and data

Requirements:

• Post-secondary degree in Social Services or related field

• Significant experience with RGI program administration

• Strong communication skills with diverse populations

• Knowledge of relevant housing legislation and procedures

• Competent in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
