Position: Nail Salon Workers Project Outreach Role
Become a vital part of the Nail Salon Workers Project as a Peer Outreach Worker. Facilitate community engagement and advocate for the needs of nail technicians across Toronto.

The Parkdale Queen West Community Health Centre is on the lookout for passionate individuals for a part-time outreach role aimed at understanding and improving the landscape for Black and Latin American nail technicians. Training in community engagement and research methods will be provided, with an emphasis on developing skills to conduct workshops and outreach effectively. Prior experience is not necessary—just a readiness to learn and connect.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct outreach initiatives to nail salon workers

• Engage technicians for workshop participation

• Attend training on workers’ rights and community engagement

• Assist in community-based research efforts

• Organize and deliver health workshops for nail technicians

Requirements:

• Lived knowledge of the discount nail salon sector

• Strong English communication skills

• Assets:
Spanish or Portuguese fluency

• Understanding of challenges in racialized communities

• Capacity to travel within Toronto
