AboutMcCall Centre:
McCall Centre is a 120-bed chronic care facility situated on the Queensway Health Centre campus. Though a chronic care facility, most of our patients are transitional in nature for reintegration back into the community.
Our specialized interprofessional teams will work with families to support patients’ plan of care and goals with compassion and excellence.
- Providequalitynutritioncareinrelationtothepatient'sdiagnosis,treatment,age,andnutritionstatusin an inpatient setting
- Provide screening and assessment, contribute to care plan development, establish goal oriented treatment interventions, patient/family educationandprovidesupporttoaddressnutritionalneeds
- Educatepatientsandfamilymembersonindividualbasis
- Actasacoach/mentor/consultantusingsoundcriticalthinkingskillstoachievepatientoutcomes.
- Actas acoach/mentorfordieteticinternsand otherstudentsas appropriate
- Participateininterprofessionalpatientcareteamsas required
- Completedailyworkloadstatistics
- Degreein Human Nutrition and Dieteticscombinedwithanaccredited Dietetic Internship program
- Currentregistrationwiththe Collegeof Dietitians of Ontario
- Ideally possesses membership with
Dietitians of Canada - Establishedclinicalskillsinnutritionalmanagementofmedicalandcomplexpatients
- Experiencedinthemanagementofenteralandparenteralnutritionsupport
- Reliable, flexible,creative, self-directed professional, ableto work effectively andcollaborativelywithin a team environment
- Effective interpersonal,organizationalandcommunicationskills
- Demonstrated ability to utilize practice based research to ensure excellence inthe provision of nutritional care.
- Proficiencyincomputer Windowssoftwareapplications,REACH portal,Meditech.
- Onetotwoyears recentexperiencewithestablishedclinicalskillsinaninpatientacutecaresetting
- Certified Nutrition Support Clinician (CNSC) designation preferred
